These lights are exactly what we were hoping they would be. They light perfectly even when it hasn't been very bright out. Now that the trees are just starting to get leaves, & it will be more shady, we think that based on their winter performance, they will do just fine. They stay on all night long, & are bright just like they are electric instead of Solar. We have a very long driveway, so getting electricity down to lights at the entrance would not be feasible. Our country road is very dark, and so is the entrance to our driveway, so having these lights is perfect for finding our way into our drive. The style looks good, and the finish on them is good. They have kind of a little speckle on the bronze color, but look very natural. The photo of them on the Amazon site looks like the solar collector is at an angle. We thought that would be good to face that to the south. In reality, the solar panel on top of the light is flat. We were a little worried about that for when we have lots of snow, but we installed them during the winter, & it wasn't much of an issue. Bottom line, is we really like these lights, and would buy them again if we ever need to. They look excellent up on top of the tall posts we have at our driveway entrance, and look very classy. We have gotten other solar lights in the past, & these lights are the best & brightest! UPDATE: All summer long, we have big trees that make our driveway very shady. We were concerned that it might affect our new solar lights. It didn't. They stayed on & bright all summer long until about 2 A.M. We like them even better than we thought we would. :)
