Lights are beautiful, love that they are easy to connect sets and the colors are really vibrant. Also they are spaced out nicely so they look great.Unfortunately, I didn't full read the description. It says that the lights are waterproof/water resistant, but I missed the part about "please protect the plug from water" - well then these are not made for outdoor! If I need to buy something to house the plug (which is not a normal size or shape, so that's difficult), then these are not made for outdoor use. So that's frustrating.Also as others have commented, every time you turn the lights off and then back on, even with a timer, it reverts to mode 1, so you have to reset the mode you want each time. I prefer just 'steady on', as i think the majority of people do as well, so it would've at least made sense that the first mode be steady on, and if you want all the other crazy blinking modes, you can select that each time you turn it on as you are in the minority. But no, i have to hit a button 8 times to get the lights to act normally every day when I turn the lights on.Had I known this I never would've bought these lights. They're VERY pretty, but VERY impractical.Very bright and well made. Does not have separate remote, but has button on plug to change light mode. Would definitely purchase again.These lights have so many different settings so you can have the perfect house!! They looked super cute for Halloween.These work as described with good color and brightness.I obtained many different sets of lights for this Halloween season, and this set would be in with my favorites, but for the fatal "flaw" that others have mentioned. I do not like remotes, I don't like to have to keep track of where they are, nor do I like to have to figure out which one of 8 nearly identical remotes is the one I need. This unit doesn't use a remote, which is a plus for me, but putting them on a timer or master remote switch that controls multiple sets of lights will cause these lights to default to "sequential multimode." If steady one is what you desire, you have to reset it at the plug in/transformer each and every time power is re-applied. Totally unacceptable, for me, in an otherwise desirable light.These lights are bright and vibrant. They are true purple & orange. They are compatible with other lights of this kind- the fuse at one end hooks into the beginning of another set of lights, so you can link up 4 strands of lights and have them all do the same function. Blinking, fading, solid, strobe, etc.I put these up in my livingroom to get in the Halloween spirit. Not only are the colors great but the are bright and the flashing varies to an entertaining degree. Plus, my cats love to sit around and watch them.
